Are your kids out of school for the summer and ready to take on day trips? With so many options to choose from, here is a list to get started. These five locations are a great start as they are low to no cost.

1. Ovitt Family Community Library and Lewis Family Branch

Ovitt Library- 215 East C Street Ontario, CA 91764

(909)395-2004

Monday - Saturday: 10:00am - 6:00pm
Sunday: Closed

Lewis Family Branch- 3850 East Riverside Drive Ontario, CA 91761

Hours
Monday and Tuesday: 2:00pm - 7:00pm
Wednesday - Friday: 10:00am - 6:00pm
Saturday: 12:00pm - 6:00pm

The most obvious but sometimes overlooked location is the Ontario Libraries. Both Ovitt Family Community Library and Lewis Family Branch are now open and no longer require appointments for in-person browsing, checkout, or computer use. I personally love to take my kids to the Ovitt Library first, check-out some books to read and head on to the children's playground across the street in the Ontario Town Square for some snacks and playtime afterwards.  https://www.ontarioca.gov/Library

2. Civic Center Community Conservation Park

303 E. B Street
Ontario, CA 91764

Staying the the same area as the Ovitt Library, is the Conservation Park. Both young children as well as your oldest can appreciate what this park has to offer. With kid powered wind mill, playground, fossil dig and farm water pump to name a few of its amenities, this park will keep the whole family engaged!

Heading on further south is Ontario's most child friendly farm; Amy's Farm. This is a small farm which makes it easy to visit as an afternoon activity. In it's small size however, fits so much enrichment. All plants are labeled as well as animals names and quick instructions, which easily sparks curiosity and engagement in school aged children. Toddlers will also be able to enjoy the animals as they are easily viewed up close as they are walking or even from their stroller. Wherever you end your walk, you can end your trip by visiting the farm store and taking home some of your favorite veggies and/or products.
